Large Language Model (LLM) capabilities have been added to the platform by edtech startup Guvi and HCL Group Company. The features assist users from a variety of grammatical backgrounds in learning topics in their “conversational” language. Users of the AI-enabled site can upload an English course video and have it translated into their preferred conversational language.
Additionally, it offers resources for individualized training that take into account each student’s particular needs and preferences. For a seamless learning experience, users will be able to interact with AI in their own native language.
Guvi, which began as a platform for tech education in regional languages at IIT Madras, assists students in learning in their mother tongue and also provides specialized IT courses to help them advance their skills and prepare for the workforce. With more than 2.5 million learners already, it is anticipated that the new LLM feature will increase the number of tier-2 and tier-3 students who are proficient in technological concepts.
Guvi CEO Arun Prakash said, “We recognize the significance of linguistic diversity in education, particularly in a country as diverse as India. By leveraging ChatGPT and colloquial data sets, we are ensuring that the AI understands and responds to users in their colloquial language, fostering inclusivity and accessibility in education while celebrating India’s linguistic heritage.”
Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada are the vernacular languages in which Guvi’s LLM will be accessible. In the near future, the company intends to release other vernacular languages. Users can now access the LLM for free for a long period of time.
